Top of wall steel fixture/bracket

Where we have full control of a specification, we eliminate fasteners through horizontal sections of sheet metal flashing. If we have to penetrate through the top of a sheet metal fixture, we have a very specific method for doing so.  Our large scale, multi-location owners, who own properties in the long term & who are in urban settings, can attest to the difficulty of securing cameras and lights to their buildings.  These institutional owners have distinct requirements for lighting and security, and these brackets offer a professional means to secure such fixtures without damaging the waterproofing integrity of the walls.  Our steel top-of-wall fixtures/brackets allow for fastening and securing fixtures without penetrating the top of the sheet metal coping. The top-of-wall construction is modified to accommodate the steel. Over the last two decades, the method has proven successful.

It is better to an Owner when a jobsite is safer and more productive.

When ImCon has full control of a Specification, we like to specify a Stair Tower in lieu of standard scaffolding and/or ladders for access to the roof, windows, or walls. They are safer than ladders, less intrusive than a hatch, less disruptive to operations of a building, and the crews expend less energy accessing the Site. In addition, the crew may be able to carry small tools and materials without a crane or lift bed or a rope. In a way, they can be more productive. While there may be security concerns, they can be mitigated with razor wire, fencing, cameras, and locks. It is better to an Owner when a jobsite is safer and more productive.  The advantages of a stair tower may not be readily observable or noteworthy, but the safety concerns alone can outweigh the liability that an Owner can assume during a project. Where we have control of a project Specification, we insist on a stair tower. On this reroof in Fountain Valley, CA, the Owner was onboard without hesitation.
